Create fully automated, dynamic graphics packages for German football streaming platforms.
Germany is a football nation. Each year, the start of the Bundesliga season has fans all over the country wondering where best to watch the games of their favorite clubs. As more and more sports broadcasts move to PayTV channels, football clubs themselves increasingly provide online streamings of their matches. To improve the online viewing experience, our team at Molden Media has created a fully automated on-air graphics workflow using Singular.live, the real-time graphics solution for online TV and streaming.
The pipeline receives live sports data from provider Sportradar. We have developed a custom variation of our graphics management and control solution M2Control, which transforms the Sportradar data and feeds it into the Singular.live workflow. With custom graphic design for each football club, we are making sure to stay on brand and deliver a unique viewing experience on each platform.
Since football clubs do not usually have any staff to manage live streamings, it was essential for us the create a fully automated pipeline. The system uses cues from M2Control and the Sportradar live data to start the graphics in the beginning of the game and stop them once the game is over. Clock and goal count are updated automatically. Player tables, line-up graphics and the like are shown according to a fixed schedule that is planned along the course of the game.
So far, five major clubs are utilizing the workflow for the streaming of all their team’s matches without the need for an operator. Some of them have already been using the system for a while and are now entering into their second season with updated graphics. With online streaming becoming ever more popular, we are expecting other football clubs across Germany to jump on board and hope to provide entertaining and informative automated graphics to viewers of the entire Bundesliga soon.
